2013-11-18 L’Osservatore Romano - Evangelii gaudium is the title of the Apostolic Exhortation that Pope Francis will consign on Sunday, 24 November, in St Peter's Square, during the celebration of Holy Mass to conclude the Year of Faith. Archbishop Rino Fisichella, President of the Pontifical Council for Promoting the New Evangelization, announced this to journalists in the Holy See Press Office on Monday morning, 18 November, during a presentation of the final events of the Year of Faith. Also present were Archbishop José Octavio Ruiz Arenas and Msgr Graham Bell, respectively, Secretary and Undersecretary of the Vatican dicastery.
The consigning of the Exhortation will mark the conclusion of the Year of Faith, which brought a total of 8.5 million pilgrims to venerate the relics of St Peter. In addition two other meetings have been planned. The first is Pope Francis' visit to the Camaldolese Monastery on the Aventine Hill on Thursday afternoon, 21 November, for Pro Orantibus Day. The second is a meeting with catechumens which has been scheduled for Saturday, 23 November.
Another important moment will be the first-ever exposition of the relics of the Apostle Peter.
At the Mass, a collection will be taken up for the people of the Philppines who have been affected by Typhoon Haiyan.
