Đại Gia Đình LittleSaigon Radio và Tuần Báo Viet Tide hân hạnh chào mừng chư quý Vị đến Hội Quán LittleSaigon Radio để chứng kiến nghi lễ trao tiền cứu trợ nạn nhân sóng thần tại Á Châu qua sự chuyển giao của Hội Hồng Thập Tự Hoa Kỳ, mà vị đại diện là Ông Henderson, Giám Đốc Điều Hành Chi Nhánh Hội Hồng Thập Tự ở Houston và Bà Lynn Howes, Giám Đốc Tiếp Thị, Chi Nhánh H.H.T.T. Orange County.
Chúng tôi chân thành cám ơn các đồng hương, cá nhân, đoàn thể, cơ sở thương mại, hãng xưởng, công ty, ở Nam và Bắc California cũng như Houston, Texas, đã thương mến, tín nhiệm LSR và Tuần Báo Viet Tide, ưu ái giao trách nhiệm thực hiện công cuộc cứu trợ các nạn nhân sóng thần tại Á Châu, nhứt là tại các quốc gia Nam Dương, Thái Lan, Phi Luật Tân, Mã Lai, là những dân tộc đã rộng lượng đón tiếp đồng hương thuyền nhân Việt Nam của chúng ta trên đường vượt biển và vượt biên chạy trốn chế độ Cộng sản bạo tàn sau năm 1975.
Chúng tôi rất cảm kích trước sự hưởng ứng nhiệt tình và rộng lượng của các đồng hương tấp nập đến Văn Phòng LittleSaigon Radio và Tuần Báo Việt Tide để trao cho chúng tôi các chi phiếu cứu trợ. Đây là cơ hội may mắn giúp chúng ta bày tỏ lòng biết ơn đối với các ân nhân của dân tộc Việt Nam chúng ta. Chân thành tri ân chư quý Vị.

The LittleSaigon Radio and Viet Tide Newspaper Staff are filled with joy in contemplating the generous donations of our Vietnamese Communities in America to bring comfort, peace and hope to the victims of Tsunami in Asia. We at Little Saigon Radio and Viet Tide have a right to be proud of ourselves being lovingly trusted by our Vietnamese people.
The catastrophic tsunami struck hard in the Indian Ocean, on Dec. 26th, 2004, causing unprecedented deaths, losses, destruction, and great suffering to hundreds of thousands of people in the Philippines, Indonesia, India, Thailand, Malaysia, Sri Lanka. Immediately three days later, the staff of Little Saigon Radio and Viet Tide Newspaper quickly launched an emergency fund-raising campaign for the relief of those miserable tsunami victims, especially as an expression of gratitude from the Vietnamese refugees in return for the temporary shelter, love, support, that the people in some of those countries mentioned earlier provided to our boat people on their escape from the Communist regime after April 30th, 1975.
Cash donations flooded in from individuals in all walks of life in our communities, from many businesses, factories and companies. Even some school children emptied their piggy banks and accompanied their parents to LSR office to send their humble donations to those suffering people. A few elderly and handicapped people came to our office in wheelchairs and made their donations in person. We were all moved by such heart-felt and joyful acts of charity.
We would like to thank the American Red Cross Personnel for their dedicated service to the needy and unfortunate people in the United States and throughout the world. In particular, we thank you, Mr. Davis Henderson and Ms. Lynn Howes representing the American Red Cross to come today, and kindly accept our Vietnamese Communities’ donations with love, and to hand them on to the tsunami victims’ families. May God continue to bless America and the whole world with true peace, love, unity and solidarity. Thank You!
